Welcome to Queer Your Thoughts 🏳️‍🌈

Your new favourite LGBTQ+ clubhouse

Hello there!

Welcome to Queer Your Thoughts— a lesbian-owned newsletter for queer minds & curious hearts.

This is a virtual hangout space where LGBTQ+ people can come together to share experiences and explore the richness of our histories, cultures, and identities.

Whether you’re here as a fellow queer person seeking solidarity or an ally looking to better understand our world, you are very welcome.

So pull up a chair and get comfy—you’re gonna love it here.

Who Am I?

I’m Natalie.

British-Nigerian. Friendly. Lover of life. Big softy. Habitual weeper. Gay as a maypole.

I have a penchant for craft hobbies, epic film scores, thunderstorms, and cinnamon-flavoured anything.

I’m a writer, thinker, and lifelong observer of queer life. I boast a deep love for history, culture, and the small, seemingly unremarkable moments that shape our identities.

I’ve spent years exploring these themes in my writing, and now I want to carve out a space where we can do it together—without algorithms dictating what matters.

I created Queer Your Thoughts because, as a female lesbian of colour, I sit right at the intersection of multiple identities.

I know how powerful it is to see yourself reflected in the world— and how frustrating it is when our stories get censored, rewritten, or misunderstood.

So this is a space for us to tell those stories honestly, in our own voices.

What to expect

Queer Your Thoughts is a mixture of essays, musings, and deep dives into the queer experience. Here’s what you’ll find:

  • Personal reflections on queer female identity and navigating the complexities of love, relationships, and society in general. Expect honest and unfiltered accounts that cover topics desperately in need of representation.

  • LGBTQ+ world history, because we’ve always been here and yet much of our history has been erased or overlooked.

Here, we will unearth stories of queer people from a variety of cultures and time periods— the renegades, the romantics, the everyday people who live full lives despite the constraints of their societies.

Whether it’s historical gender nonconformity or queer activism throughout the centuries, this space is about reclaiming our past.

  • Sex & relationships, because open and honest conversations about these topics empower us all. Largely excluded from mainstream discourse, I’ll be writing about everything from family dynamics to practical sexual health advice— no topic is off-limits, because we need more spaces that prioritise our needs and knowledge.

  • Feminism & social issues, with a focus on women’s experiences, gender identity, and the ways queerness and womanhood intersect. I absolutely LOVE being a woman, and I want to explore what that means in a world that often tries to define it for us.

From the joys of female camaraderie to the challenges of existing in a patriarchal society, we’ll cover it all.

  • Resources and insights for allies, because if you’re here to better understand the LGBTQ+ community, I want to make that possible for you in a way that’s thoughtful, respectful, and relatable.

This is a space where you can learn without fear of judgement, so please don’t feel any shame over your lack of knowledge or understanding. You will learn how to support queer people in meaningful ways, we will unpack common misconceptions, and I will offer perspectives on what it actually means to be an ally.

My goal isn’t to lecture, but to invite you into the conversation so that we can all grow together. You are safe here.

More Than Just a Newsletter—A Community

Queer Your Thoughts isn’t just a place to read— it’s a place to connect. The comment section is open for thoughtful discussion, and I’d love for it to be a space where LGBTQ+ folks and allies can share ideas, ask questions, and build understanding.

I want this to be the kind of space I wish I had had when I was younger: one where queer people can feel seen, where our stories are told without being sanitised for mainstream comfort, and where our supporters can engage with our experiences in a meaningful way.

If you’re tired of queer content being filtered through corporate media; if you crave an environment that feels real and lived-in; or if you just want to read something that makes you think — welcome, my friend.

Let’s queer our thoughts together.

Queer Your Thoughts is a reader-supported publication, lovingly created by a lesbian with a chai latte addiction and a cat to raise. To show your support, please consider becoming a free or paid subscriber. You might receive a surprise in the post ;)
